So, I'm on my way to Helsinki once again. Tonight we're shooting this reality-tv wedding program (yes, for realz...) and on Saturday we play at fucking Iskelmä-festival. Not sure if my career has hit an all-time low or if I'm now in the mainstream, but one thing is for sure: they're soon going to revoke my heavy metal club - membership. Hell, might even lose the "rock" status, if I ever even had one to begin with.

Hey there, long time no see. Or read, or whatever. Sorry for the hiatus, which got a bit longer than I had planned. I’ve been shit busy, and also had some health issues. Mainly the fucking finger which bummed the living crap out of me, but also some weird flu-type-thing that just didn’t let go. Can’t remember being that sick in a LONG time.

So, what’s up?

Well, let’s start with the finger: The splint was removed last Thursday and the doctor said the fracture has healed very well. It’s a bit stiff still, but a few days ago I was recording some demo guitars for a new song and noticed that I was using my pinky again without even thinking about it. That made me a happy fucking camper indeed. On Saturday I’ll play my first show with all my fingers operational for the first time in 2 months with Railio, and in few weeks it’s time to share the stage once again with my bro and main man Mr.T. Colour me excited.

What have I been doing meanwhile?

Aside from playing some 3-finger shows here and there with Railio I have been writing. A LOT. I’ve been writing pretty much every day for few weeks now, and I have to say it’s been going great. I have 4 songs pretty much finished that are definitely going to be on the next Cain’s Offering-album and -holy shitballs mom- do they kick some serious ass. Haven’t been this excited about writing in years. I mean, it was great working on the Arion-album with the guys, but there I was only doing lyrics, and as much as I love writing lyrics I think I love writing music even more.

Aside those 4 songs there are 4 more that I’ve been working on with Timo, and I’m 100% sure that at least 2 of those songs are going to end up on an album. Whether it’s CO or Stratovarius, I don’t care. The main thing is that you guys and everyone else interested gets to hear them, as I think they are pretty damn good as well :)

I’ve set myself a goal to have the next CO album written by the beginning of September. It’s kinda scary as time flies by so fast, but I have been keeping a steady pace and so far the results have been more than impressive, at least IMO :)

I think I’ll have to sign off now, just wanted to let you guys know that I’m back, and with a vengeance :) Have a good wank or whatever it is you are planning to do, I’ll be posting some stupid shit here again, so if your life is empty and you have time to waste feel free to stop by. Bring beer.

Sorry for the hiatus, I actually got really sick, and it sucked ass. I'll give a more comprehensive update tomorrow. Now I'll just leave you with the fact that I think I beat the disease and this sounds awesome:

I would have some stuff to do this weekend, so of course I have to get sick. I feel like shit. Well, tomorrow me and my broken finger will join Mr.Railio & the boys @ Alavus, and on Saturday I'll have to be in Helsinki for the Rock Poker tournament. Being a bounty player I don't give myself very good odds at making it to the money, but I think this might be a fun endeavour nevertheless.

Sooooo.... What's up?

Well, been home for a few days now (for a change), on Monday I went jogging and yesterday I went to meet this hand-surgeon-specialist-whatnot to get a second opinion about my fucked up little piggy that cried wee wee wee all the way home. Damn, that guy scared the bejesus out of me...

He took a look at the x-rays taken during my initial visit at another hospital and said he thinks I will be needing a surgery. I think my heart skipped a beat there. He did still send me to get my finger x-rayed again and after seeing those pictures he was kinda "I'll be damned, the piece hasn't moved at all. You won't be needing surgery after all". Yeay for the small victories! I still have to wear the fucking splint for 5 weeks still, so just a small victory...

Today I went jogging again and now in the evening I watched Rush: Beyond the Lighted Stage documentary, which was nice and entertaining. I've never been a huge Rush fan, actually I knew disturbingly little of them but rectified some of that now. I recommend you check it out if you have any interest in one of the grandfathers of progressive rock/metal, or interest in music in general. 

Now I'm not sure if I should go to sleep or stay awake and watch some hockey. Well, time will tell. I shall leave you with my favourite Rush song, party on people!
