Back in Kemi, had school today, as I will have on Tuesday and Wednesday as well. We also had insanely though weekend, been tired as hell. There were some fun moments as well, like performing Kotipelto song "Lord of Eternity" with Timo, Jens Johansson, Lauri Porra and Mirka Rantanen in a private event :) Too bad I haven't seen any pics of that yet.
Tomorrow I will also have to go and testify in court, ought to be interesting as well :)
Ojala te vaya bien cariƱos ...
ReplyDeleteYou are so inspired you could even managed to rhyme.
ReplyDelete"as well³, as hell" omg.
Jani, I know what you'll say but... PLEASE, WRITE YOUR OPINION - WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT NEW 'SONATA ARCTICA' ALBUM? Tony said it's 'old SA style'. You're member of that era. What do you think of that?
ReplyDeleteIt's bad. They got to ruin almost every song of it in at least one part.
DeleteRunnimng lights had a great Melody and FINALLY DOUBLE PEDAL! But what's up with that 'opera' like parts?!( and I even like opera, but that was just bad), also WHAT IS THAT LYRICS? CAR RSCERS?! Was Tony watching fast and furious or Initial D lately?
Same with X Marks the spot, what's up with that 'testify' in the middle of the song? It would be a great song... WITHOUT IT!
Half a marathon man was decent, but still the lyrics are... "What the fuck? Is this a SA song?"
Cloud Factory looks like the shit I create in Guitar Pro when Im bored... Even the lyrics are pretty lazy, "they make them big and blue" feels like a filler for example.
Love... Is the romantic ballad that is always there, still is just too danm cheesy, nothing compared to Tallulah or Shy...
And I have even more to say about it, but Im out of time...
I just miss the old style songs about love and stuff, with melodic energetic rhythm, but I guess we will never get that back from SA... Im pretty sad about it.
Sooooooo.... I still hoping for a new Cain's offering album!!! C'mom Jani! We need something like that!! Gather the faithful was better than the last 5 albuns from SA, AND THEY ARE MY FAVORITE BAND!!!
"...Gather the faithful was better than the last 5 albuns from SA..." <--- This.
DeleteFacewall.
DeleteMarcos, everything would be better.... WITHOUT YOU!
DeleteJani's rebels fans are in all posts. How do you put up with this?
DeleteOkay Darial, i'm up to your opinion, just say it... Prove me that the new album is good...
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't even compare it to the old ones, like I did to Stone Grows Her Name, but in this one THEY SAID it would be like the old ones...
And COME! FUCKING! ON!!
I just cant believe they dare to say this! The guy who wrote the ~awesome as fuck~ lyrics back in the day did really write this ones? Can you compare any song of it to something like The Power of One?(And i'm taking the one who doesn't even talk about love, it talks about freedom).
I'm not saying that the album is trash, i really like most of it(The only album of SA that I hate is The days of greys, it's just bad), but it's nothing I expected... it's nothing THEY SAID IT WOULD BE...
But again, prove me wrong. Say your opinion!
I just pray we someday get something like gather the faithful again... It's just... beautiful...
(Sorry for my bad english in the first comment, i wrote it in cellphone, in a bus...)
My opinion is, if you buy an album that disappoints you so bad that you go moan about it in public and to people not associated with it at all, you have the wrong approach. Silently put it to the back/bottom of your CD stack and continue on living your life.
DeleteAaaand besides, Tony did say in an interview that it sounds old SA, but I read a later interview, where he said he had started to think about it and it's more like back in the crossroads and that Pariah's Child is supposed to continue, where Reckoning Night left off.
How about you put the CD to play in the background while you do stuff, I've heard the songs will grow on you when you don't use your brain meanwhile. Try it, you might be enlightened.
BUTTHURT
DeleteOkay mister, this is not even about if you liked the album or not.
ReplyDeleteHas it even gotten through your thick skull that Jani does NOT like people bashing SA, especially not when they do it through comparing the new SA to the old, or to something else that HE participated in, as if they're speaking up for HIM.
No, Jani does not need you to stand up for him this way, only losers need whatever protection or comfort you think you're giving.
Not even to mention Jani is not even associated with the new SA now, what makes you think that his blog would be an especially meaningful place to discuss this?
If you want to whine about the album, do it in your own blog with your friends, do it in a forum where it's open for discussion. What the fuck do you think you're doing here? Looking for his/someone's approval? Just want to disturb him?
To wrap it up: that review is hella amateurish too, to the point I couldn't even believe you actually play with music as you tried to hint, proudly, in there.
Jani, is that you? :)
DeleteOk, we are sorry, will never discuss about SA anymore!
Nope, not me. Been too busy, and I don't write as "Anonymous", as you guys should probably know by now. I haven't heard the album, so it's impossible for me to review it. I thought the first two singles sounded pretty nice, catchy melodies.
DeleteWhat do you have to testify about? Just curious...
ReplyDeleteI'm curious too!
DeleteI was a witness in a case in which a friend of mine was accused of battery/assault/whatever it is in English. All charges were dropped, not guilty.
DeleteThanks for replying. In the states its called assault & battery. Tell your friend I said congrats on winning his case and go have a few beers to celebrate. :)
ReplyDeleteI hope you do more collaborations with the people from Stratovarius. If the story is over is one of my favourite songs off their new album
