Tab software?

Yo folks,

guitarist mainly: Anyone know a neat software to do tabs? I'm working on the guitar-post and thought I'd include tabs for some shit. I've used Guitar Pro in the past, but it's kind of a pain. I'm on a Mac, so hopefully one that works on this one as well...

  3. I had searched around google and there's nothing better than Guitar Pro, and it's also compatible with Mac. http://www.guitar-pro.com/en/index.php?pg=product#/interface

    2. You are sort of right, I strongly encourage learning by ear. I just think tabs might be helpful in illustrating some concepts in my post, if I can be bothered to actually make them :)

  6. Well, I have an older version of Guitar Pro, I guess I'll just go with that. This is proving to be way more work than I thought it would, but oh well... Anything for you guys :)

  7. Hmmm...

I know the softwares "Tuxguitar", "Power Tab Editor", "Tab Edit" (http://www.tabledit.com/screen/index.shtml - which is a nice visual one), and "Tab Pro", which is also like Guitar Hero, but for me, the best one still being Guitar Pro, the 5.2 is what I actually use, but 6 offers nice improvements than doesn't have nothing to envy to any software. yeah, creating tabs is quite a hell sometimes...

    - TuxGuitar
    - Power Tab Editor
    - Tab Edit
    - Tab Pro
    - Guitar Pro (5.2 , 6)

    Hope that helps!

    1. I have been using Guitar Pro 5.0 and 5.2 since 2008 and the experience is satisfactory. With sounds and easy way to do the things. The only thing I was suffering was my few experience composing in GP. That made difficult things, but nothing to worry now.

  9. As much as I hate using it, I think Guitar Pro is probably the best option available. Thanks in advance for doing the guitar post, very interested in reading it!

    1. Sibelius 7 costs 500+ euros, kind of an overkill just to do a few tabs, don't you think? :D
