Yo folks,
guitarist mainly: Anyone know a neat software to do tabs? I'm working on the guitar-post and thought I'd include tabs for some shit. I've used Guitar Pro in the past, but it's kind of a pain. I'm on a Mac, so hopefully one that works on this one as well...
I used Mario Paint Composer when I was 10-ears old
ReplyDeleteGuitar pro 6,it's much easier to use than the previous versions.Period.
ReplyDeleteI had searched around google and there's nothing better than Guitar Pro, and it's also compatible with Mac. http://www.guitar-pro.com/en/index.php?pg=product#/interface
ReplyDeleteGuitarist should learn by ear, not by tabs :/
ReplyDeleteMost of us have started playing guitar and Jani is just helping us :-)
DeleteYou are sort of right, I strongly encourage learning by ear. I just think tabs might be helpful in illustrating some concepts in my post, if I can be bothered to actually make them :)
Deletesome time ago i used Tuxguitar , if you want to write just some easy tabs, it is ok, and is for Mac too ...
ReplyDeleteWell, I have an older version of Guitar Pro, I guess I'll just go with that. This is proving to be way more work than I thought it would, but oh well... Anything for you guys :)
ReplyDeleteReally thank you!^^ You're the best J-Li!
DeleteHmmm...
ReplyDeleteI know the softwares "Tuxguitar", "Power Tab Editor", "Tab Edit" (http://www.tabledit.com/screen/index.shtml - which is a nice visual one), and "Tab Pro", which is also like Guitar Hero, but for me, the best one still being Guitar Pro, the 5.2 is what I actually use, but 6 offers nice improvements than doesn't have nothing to envy to any software. yeah, creating tabs is quite a hell sometimes...
- TuxGuitar
- Power Tab Editor
- Tab Edit
- Tab Pro
- Guitar Pro (5.2 , 6)
Hope that helps!
Btw, Tuxguitar, I used it in Linux and the sound is the worst shit I ever heard. Maybe are improved now. It's free.
DeleteSometimes guitar pro lost the time. I don't know why, but the fucking software, sometimes, lost the fucking time! or play random sounds, that when I re-play, the sounds dissapear xD
ReplyDeleteI have been using Guitar Pro 5.0 and 5.2 since 2008 and the experience is satisfactory. With sounds and easy way to do the things. The only thing I was suffering was my few experience composing in GP. That made difficult things, but nothing to worry now.
DeleteAs much as I hate using it, I think Guitar Pro is probably the best option available. Thanks in advance for doing the guitar post, very interested in reading it!
ReplyDeleteJani, try to use Sibelius or Finale songwriter program...easy to use and best for songwriting..also TAB
ReplyDeleteSibelius 7 costs 500+ euros, kind of an overkill just to do a few tabs, don't you think? :D
DeleteCubase have a score/tab editor, I suppose that your Audio Recording program, have something to make Tabs.
ReplyDeleteTÄH, I thought that you are songwriter..I do my arrangements with Finale an it costs me 49€
ReplyDeleteI use Logic for that.
Deletewhat is Logic? What you mean? OK...sometimes I use notepaper and pencil :) eh...
DeleteAHAA Logic is songwriter where you can play it youself and it writes it notes what you are playing. Hmm..sounds nice, but not for me becouse I think teoretically.
ReplyDeleteThe new guitar pro is a pleasure on mac, use it!
