Okidoki folks, it's time to head to Helsinki to have a sauna and consume some alcoholic beverages with my brother from another mother, and then tomorrow jump back on the working horse (that sounded weird, like getting it on with a horse prostitute...)

BTW, it might've been the first time that this blog proved actually useful. I had no idea whatsoever what I did last Vappu, so I just went and read what I wrote back then. Apparently I was recording Blackoustic last year at this time. It seems not much has changed in a year :)

Almost vappu

Today I went running again even though I didn't really feel like it, and in the end it was totally worth it, as after the run and shower I felt like a decent human being, which doesn't happen often to me. Now I'm sitting in front of my work computer, writing a dance-ish pop song, although I should be actually doing some paperwork. Screw that, this is fun so I'll do the paper shit when I get stuck with the song.

Tomorrow I'll head to Helsinki to have some party-party-time with my BFF, and on Wednesday/Thursday I'll go and record the Sydänpuu vocals. That is of course unless I blow out my voice with some excessive drinking :) Hell, maybe I'll go see Stratovarius play at the Virgin Oil tomorrow, who knows :)

...were to do the fucking dishes, watch some TV and do a new mix of the song, as I thought it sounded like shit. It's better now and I'll be heading to bed. It's only 03:55, so I'm improving :)

Just another manic Sunday

Yeah yeah, I know it's "Monday" in the song... When you don't drink on Saturday you can get surprisingly lot done on a Sunday. So far I've cooked, done a mixdown of one song and gone jogging for an hour or so, and as it's only 19:30 there's still time for more Herculean tasks, like doing the dishes :)

This wasn't a crazy party-party Saturday. Spent the day laying down some demo vocals and now again I thought I'd just do little polishing on the song and suddenly 5 hours has gone by. It's 5am and I'm heading to bed. See you on the other side :)

This seems like a great friday, now just waiting for next week and vappu (I'm not gonna bother explaining what it is, do your research:) )

The rhythm of sleep...

Has been efficiently fucked up recently, I've always had a knack for this. Went to sleep around 07:30 and woke up at 14:00, way to go me. Should head out, thought I'd go buy a mic stand (I need to lay down some demo vox tomorrow) and maybe some whiskey, haven't had any in a while and as today I thought I'd spend some time in front of the TV to witness as my wonderfully large friend Mr. Railio becomes the new Voice of Finland I think some whiskey might be in order as well, if only to take the edge off :)

No Playstation...

I actually got caught up working on a song, and the next thing I notice it's four o'clock. I don't mind though, there are worse ways to spend your nights than writing. Now I think I should head to bed though, I've gotten a lot done today and am kinda feeling it as well. Solid effort by me, pienet sille.

Today I've been a good boy. I've written some music as well as some lyrics, and I went for a walk. Now I think I can reward myself with some Playstation and lazy time. Tomorrow is a new day with new stuff do be done.

Yesterday I spent hours (really) just bouncing midi tracks into audio, easy stuff, but sooo fucking boring. Also booked a time for vocal sessions, they will happen next week. Just to let you know, it's not all just poker and beers with me either :)

Chilled out, played some online NLHE and even some PLO, went out for some beers, good sunday. Tomorrow I'll start getting back into shape, which means less beers :( But I'll survive, triumph and be victorious!

So, tonight I played some poker, then I watched Mr. Railio make his way into the final of The Voice of Finland (congrats by the way:)), and now I've been trying to do some actual work, or "work", however you define it, and all this whilst enjoying a refreshing beverage. Way to go me! :)

A break from poker

Well, my internet has been kinda acting out today, there's no way to play poker if your connection cuts off every five minutes or so. There's nothing quite as frustrating as facing a raise when you have the nuts only to notice that your connection died.

Then again, it might've been a good thing, as I have for a chance sat my sweet ass in front of my work computer and actually done some writing, so I guess every cloud has a a silver-ish  "none of your selected networks are available"-lining...

This has been a funny week regarding poker anyway, I'm still up for the week, but been running like shit. So far for this week my Holdem Manager shows I'm running about 4bin under EV. Well, it happens. Luckily I've grown past the point where I got pissed when someone sucked out on me, it happens and it doesn't matter as I know I did everything right. I only get pissed when I play bad myself, that's so effin' tilting :)

Just a Sunday

Good morning midgets, how's it hanging? Just woke up, spend most of last night playing poker online, ran way under EV, but it happens and the session still wasn't a total disaster. Didn't even have one drink on a Saturday night, so all you judgemental little fucks can shut your pie hole and go hug a tree or something :) On Friday I actually went out to meet a friend of mine and a guitarist extraordinaire, Mr. J-P Alanen, who happened to be in town. We went out for a few beers and talked shit, you know, basic stuff.

Not quite sure what to do today, drinking is out of the question but otherwise I'm pretty open for suggestions. Maybe I'll try and write something, maybe I'll continue in the world of cards. Who knows.

Never happened to me before, but I guess there's a first time for everything. Damn glad I don't have any photoshoots or shows this weekend, as I doubt even makeup could hide this shit. 04:35 on a Friday

No, I'm not drunk, I've been home all night playing Batman:Arkham City. How riveting my life can be :) In all fairness, I thought I should take a small(ish) break from excessive drinking, as Easter was quite, well, "wet". Maybe a beer or two tomorrow though, haven't drank since last sunday, and that's already something in my books :)

Arkham City is surprisingly good and addictive, I tried Arkham Asylum when it came out and thought it was kinda "meh...", ok but nothing too interesting. This new (well, new for me as I had never tried it before) seems way better. Or then I didn't give the first one a decent chance. Doesn't matter, this one is pretty good, even if I've never been a huge fan of the Batman-mythos :)

On Sunday I could start working on turning all the virtual instruments used in the single into actual audio tracks. Boring as hell, but it needs to be done. Next week I should probably start polishing the vocal melodies and lyrics, time seems to go by surprisingly fast nowadays. Is it a symptom of getting older or is this just temporary? Anyhow, it needs to be done soon, and I have some other stuff that should be taken care of as well, so maybe I need to also cut back on the adventures of The Caped Crusader :)

Well, when it comes to the music, I think the single is starting to be pretty much there, should just play the guitar tracks again, as the ones I have there now are "only demos", so they're quite not as accurate as I want them to be :)

We also booked a day, or actually two, for the mixing. The plan is to enter the Tico Tico Studio with Mr. Kortelainen to mix this puppy, the tentative dates for the mix being 15th and 16th of May.
