The Department of Homeland Security says it is illegal to freely play music in The United States.
Aaaaand....
Canadian Government to Charge International Touring Artists $425 per Band Member per Performance in Canada
Seems like the people on the other side of the Atlantic really hate music...
well, at least in south america, the support to the musicians doesn't exist and try study music is sooooo expensive :(
ReplyDeletebut people that love music , will love it wherever we are :)
ReplyDeletejani, no te asustes:)) saludos

Here in Brazil they use to pay more or less in Euro €35, most of times they pay also with 2 or 3 beers... per member... :/
ReplyDeleteThat does it, it is now official. I've had it on my mind for years now but this sets it in stone. I'm leaving North America and going to whichever random country so happens to love music as much as I do. Screw waiting till I'm done with school, I'm going now. Jeez, this country sucks.
ReplyDeletewell master, come to BRASIL and u'll see worse things.
ReplyDeleteDo you think those online petitions where people sign work? Yesterday I signed one for the Canada problem but I'm not sure if that will actually make a difference.
ReplyDeleteI'm supprise of that measure in Canada, the party at the power now isn't a party that charges most.. I would not be supprise if it was in Quebec though..
ReplyDeleteso will people go in other countries to see the band.... they (goverment) can't put their own cups on everything that's "alive" like they allways did... they will fail in atempt to ride again on artists...
ReplyDeleteThen it's probably a good thing that I saw Sonata Arctica in Hollywood in December. They're my favorite band and I would hate to miss out on seeing them.
ReplyDeleteAmerican, here.
ReplyDeleteDepartment of Homeland Security cannot just say "You can't do this or that".
Laws have to passed on a state (just applies to the state) or federal level (applies to everyone). On a federal level, all laws must be passed through both the House of Representatives and Senate. After that, the purposed law is sent to the President to be signed. If signed, the law is then sent to our Judicial where it shall be looked at and interpreted. If it is found constitutional, then it is a law.
Homeland Security has jack shit to say about it. Not to mention, it would be completely unenforceable.
